History

Children’s Garden School has been providing exceptional private school programming for 25 years.

1986
Children’s Garden Nursery School is co-founded by our Principal, Marie Bates.
The school is operated out of a church in Leaside.

1989
Children’s Garden Nursery School offers half day kindergarten programming and kindergarten enrichment for public school students.

1996
Children’s Garden Junior School is founded at its’ present location at 670 Eglinton Ave. E. and adds a grade level each year until it reaches Grade 3.

2004
The affiliation with Children’s Garden Nursery School on Bayview ends and Children’s Garden School, or CGS, continues to provide JK through Grade 3 programming independently of the nursery school.

2009
CGS introduces Early Start, our preschool program.

2012
CGS celebrates 25 years!

At CGS we know that our history can be confusing to new parents, unsure of the difference between Children’s Garden Nursery School and CGS (Children’s Garden School). We are often confused in the neighbourhood. To clarify – the two schools, although still similarly named, are no longer related. We are located on Eglinton and provide programming from Preschool through Grade 3.
