Child Led Conferences

Part of what makes CGS so special is the exceptional home/school connection. We know how important it is for students to feel recognized for their efforts and for parents to feel involved and informed about what is happening at school. Committing to a private school education is a big decision for a family and at CGS we want parents to know first-hand what goes into a typical day at CGS. Child Led Conferences happen once a year at each grade level, Preschool through Grade 3.

After the children have had a chance to get settled in their new classrooms and get some work under their belts, parents are invited to CGS to experience a day in the school life of their child. Parents tag along for samplings of French, music, art, and phys ed. classes. At the end of the specialty class rotation parents return to their child’s classroom to see what they have been up to in language arts, math and science. A celebration follows with plenty of time for parents to chat with their children and enjoy the work on display. It is a very proud and satisfying day for everyone and a real highlight in the school calendar.
