At CGS we want the application process to be stress free and enjoyable for you and your child. Below please find the answers to our most frequently asked questions regarding our application process.

Process

When can I visit the school?
Tours are held Monday – Friday, during school hours. Please contact Kelly Scott, Director of Admission, at kscott@cgsschool.com or 416 423 5017 x 43 to book your tour today.

I would like to come alone for my first visit. Is that ok?
Absolutely, we understand that choosing a school is a big decision and that parents want to get a sense of a school before introducing it to their child. If you wish to bring your child along on your first visit that’s ok too.

I would like to bring my child for a tour. What next?
The Director of Admissions will arrange a time for you and your child to visit the school. Students are interviewed informally during a school tour and no entrance tests are required. Please note that additional assessment may be required if recommended by CGS staff.

I want to apply. What next?
Applications are available online or in the office. In order to be processed, completed applications must be accompanied by the non-refundable application fee of $100.00. If applying online please mail your application fee to:

All applications are dated and admission is based on a first come, first served basis. Please note that offers of admission cannot be made until the application and fee is received in full.

When should I apply?
We welcome applications to all of our programs at anytime throughout the year. Due to our small class sizes however, we strongly encourage applications be submitted as early as possible.

When will we be notified of acceptance?
The CGS re-registration process for current students is completed in February and March. At that time, offers of admission will be made to the successful SK – Grade 3 outside applicants. For those applying to our JK programs, offers of admission will be made in December. For those applying to our preschool program Early Start, offers of admission will be made in October. You will be notified by email or by phone. Offers of admission are held for two weeks. If the offer of admission is not accepted at the end of this period it will expire.
