Make Your Plate a Rainbow

This week, our Early Starts turned into Rainbow Food Explorers thanks to a wonderful visit from Rainbow Plate. We welcomed Janet Nezon, the founder of Rainbow Plate, into our classroom where she shared a beautiful rainbow of colourful fruits and vegetables. The children then broke off into groups and enjoyed each rainbow station. They explored with their noses and hands and tasted some new and familiar fruits and vegetables at each station. They made their own Rainbow Plate along the way. Janet encouraged the children to create a “Rainbow Plate” whenever they eat and shared this catchy rhyme: “Rainbow Plate, Rainbow Plate, tell me the colours that you ate!” We all had a wonderful time. Thank you Rainbow Plate for making healthy eating so much fun!
