And Away we “Gogh”!

This week our grades 1 to 3 went on an incredible adventure to the Van Gogh Immersive Experience organized by our resident art teacher Carrie! It was a day filled with colours, paintings, and so much fun. Imagine walking into a world where paintings come to life, where you can touch the colours and feel like you’re inside a magical painting. That’s exactly what they experienced on their field trip to the Van Gogh Immersive Experience.

As they walked into the exhibition, they were greeted by a burst of vibrant colours and stunning paintings. One student said “It felt like I was stepping into a dreamworld!” There were paintings of beautiful sunflowers, Van Gogh’s famous starry night, and so much more. Each one was like a treasure waiting to be discovered by our CGS visitors.

They learned that the artist behind these amazing paintings was Vincent van Gogh: the famous artist who loved to paint the sky, stars, and sunflowers of the 19th century. The exhibit even showed a giant painting of him for our students to see and it was like they were meeting the artist himself.

What was really exciting was that some of the paintings moved! They relaxed and watched the stars twinkle and swirl in the “Starry Night.” It was like a dazzling fireworks show right in front of their eyes. They also saw sunflowers dance in the wind and shimmer like real flowers. It sparked some of them to join in and dance along! It was absolutely enchanting!

Their visit to the Van Gogh Immersive Experience was a day they will never forget. They discovered how Vincent van Gogh painted with passion and how he saw the world in a unique and colourful way. It inspired them to appreciate art and find beauty in everyday things. They left with smiles on their faces and hearts full of joy. It was a magical adventure into the world of art! A very big thank you to our art teacher Carrie for organizing such a fantastic field trip!
