The Grade 2/3’s had a lot of fun creating these colourful pastel toucans. Since we’re not travelling anywhere warm this March, I figured we could surround ourselves with this tropical paradise instead. I love how art can magically transport us to another place! The children looked at pictures of real-life species of toucans. These beautiful birds come in so many different colours and sizes. In this particular piece, the children focused on creating a balanced composition. The toucans mirror and balance each other. Some of our students created their own imaginary species of toucans too. Great job Grade 2/3’s!
