Beautiful Winter Art Work
The children did some gorgeous winter themed art work before the break. If you missed it, some of it is still up on the downstairs art boards. The beautiful self portraits above are a sneak peak of the Grade 2/3 art work that will be featured in our upcoming Term 1 Awards Assembly on Jan 30. We’re trying something new this year – in the past we have held an Art Fair for the senior students (Grades 1-3) in May. May is an extremely busy month with several school events for parents to attend so we thought we would try and double up. Our Term Awards Assemblies are historically shorter and presented a good time for the children to feature their art work as well. We hope you’ll appreciate this change in the schedule. We’re excited that the children will have the chance to present their art work to a larger audience. Grade 2/3 is up first on Jan 30 and the Grade 1’s will follow on March 26. Please mark your calendars now. Carrie has done so much amazing work with the children and we can’t wait to hear more about the artists, concepts and techniques they’ve been learning about. Term Awards Assemblies do not include the Early Starters so if you are an Early Start parent and would like to learn more about what the art program has in store for your child, please feel free to join. Art work will be on display in the downstairs hall and on stage. Grade 2/3 parents, please allow a little extra time after the Assembly to look at your child’s art work.
