CGS Earth Day

The lead up to our Earth Day this year was very chilly. The ground is still frozen so planting and sketching in Marie and Don’s garden will take place over the next few weeks – hopefully! The children enjoyed planting seeds and getting their little pots ready to transplant in their classrooms. The Earth Day Pledges were very successful this year. (They are posted on the classroom doors and in the office bathroom.) The children set simple, attainable goals like using less paper towels when they dry their hands and using reusable snack containers. We have seen a noticeable reduction is the use of paper towels in the office! As you can imagine, we go through a lot and this is a real improvement around here. We hope to see these positive changes stick! Every day is Earth Day.
