CGS: Giving Back

Giving back is a big part of what makes CGS the unique and special place that it is. We are so proud of the contributions, both locally and internationally, that our student and CGS community have made during this holiday season.

The Children’s Book Bank

We were able to make another large donation to Book4Families this week. Laura, our Books4Families representative, told us that they are experiencing increased need at this time of year. She wants to send such a big ‘Thank You!’ to everyone from the CGS community who has donated. Your donations truly make a difference.

Principal’s Club Fundraiser

Our Principal’s Club (Grades 1-4) have wrapped up their holiday fundraiser and the totals are in! Club members sold $1,185.00 in Holiday Hot Chocolate Jars and $915.00 in Raffle Tickets for a GRAND TOTAL of $2,100.00
Congratulations to Raffle Winners, the Pham Family and the Chow Family! They won a beautiful ‘Family Game Night’ basket to enjoy over the holiday break.
Special congratulations to our Principal’s Club members. Their hard work made this year’s fundraiser a huge success. All fundraiser proceeds go in support of the Olive Branch For Children.

CGS Student Council Can Drive

The CGS Student Council Can Drive wrapped up today. It was beautiful to see our students and families arriving at school with bags overflowing with donation items. Everything collected in the Can Drive is going to support the St. Ann’s Food Bank.

If you haven’t had a chance to drop off your non-perishable items don’t despair. We will still be collecting any donations up to the morning of Tuesday, December 14!

Toonie Tuesday

Toonie Free Dress Days have so far brought in $600. CGS has been able to use the funds raised to donate to the Right to Play organization. At our request, the Right to Play Organization will specifically earmark our donation for Canadian Indigenous children and youth.
