CGS Open Mic Knockout

Well, there is no doubt that there is a lot of talent at CGS with over 40 acts taking to the stage on Thursday. Well done, performers! We were treated to piano, flute, voice, dance, jokes, reading and magic. Our little ones make it look so easy but I think it is important to remember what a big deal this kind of performance is for the children. It’s scary! There were some nerves backstage (and I’m sure you saw some in the morning at home before the show), but the children took the nerves in stride and had fun. What a great experience to have at such a young age. A lot of memories were made yesterday. Thank you parents for all of your support. The Talent Show is mostly an independent effort on the part of the children and we know it takes some work at home. Special thanks to Lauren for her witty script and to our cast of amazing narrators – you guys were fantastic. And to Ceci and Emily, as usual, your set was truly inspired. It was simple design this time around but incredibly effective. How lucky for the children to have such a professional looking stage to walk out on. And to our unsung, early morning hero, Zandee, thank you for the sound and lights. The Talent Show is particularly tricky with so many acts and songs to manage and it went off without a hitch.

Mark your calendars now for our next big theatrical event on May 23 & 24. Beauty and the Beast is coming to town! Auditions will be taking place soon. Please encourage your child to take part (SK-Grade 3). If they are reluctant to audition, please let us know and we can do some encouraging here at school too.
