CGS Term 2 Ribbons
The start of Term 3 here at CGS means that it is time for Term 2 ribbon awards. Our classes met virtually to celebrate the Term 2 awards together. The ceremony was hosted by our student government and Marie announced the recipients in each cohort while members of the student government vested the ribbons personally. Ribbons were awarded for character strength, Arts, House representation and academics.

Art Class
In art class with Carrie, our Gr 2 and Gr 3&4 students made these beautiful peacocks and Lions in the Naive art style.
These pieces were inspired by the Ukrainian artist Maria Oksentiyivna Prymachenko. Sadly, the students also learned that some of her art work was destroyed in the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
Ramadan Mubarak
The Early Start classes learned all about Ramadan this week. Ramadan starts on April 2nd and many in our CGS community will be observing throughout the month. The students watched a video about the origins and meaning of the month of Ramadan. They followed up their learning by practicing their writing skills using Ramadan themed vocabulary. They also really enjoyed learning and colouring in some of the symbols unique to Ramadan.
