Even or Odd?

This week in math, the JK’s talked about even and odd numbers. They learned whether numbers were ‘fair to share’ or not! When we have an even number, we know everyone has a partner. We taught the children to look at the last number (example 36, look at the 6) to figure out if a number is even or odd. For our estimation jar this week, we had to figure out how many magnetic letters there are in our jar. (Hint: There were more than 20, and less than 30 letters in our jar.) The children were also asked to go above and beyond the call of duty – they had to label their jars and  write down whether their guess was an even or odd number.
