Generosity Abounds at CGS!
Today is Picture Day at CGS so we’re all smiling and sparkling as staff and students are wearing Number One Dress. We love our CGS uniform yet we’re not required to wear it on “Free Dress Fridays”. Instead, we gather toonies, and donate to a variety of worthy causes.
Have you heard of Furniture Bank? Their mission is to end furniture poverty – one family at a time. CGS was able to make a substantial donation thanks to the Toonie Free Dress Friday initiative.
In addition, we donated enough money for the makings of almost 200 sandwiches to CLUB SANDWICH – a volunteer organization who is “sandwiching the meal gap by providing homemade sandwiches” for the homeless and food insecure of Toronto.
CGS was also able to make a substantial donation to the Love of Reading Foundation in the name of the Black River Anishinabe School. Donations like ours help Canadian high-needs elementary schools purchase books and educational resources they need. CGS is proud to be a part of the generosity which is impacting change and progress.
You’ve seen the NEW paint job of the gym, and NOW you can see the NEW gym divider! Thanks to the generosity of our families who’ve supported the CGS Foundation, this wall was purchased and installed at the beginning of the school year to maximize the use of our space.
Thank you, to our CGS Community, our CGS Families past and present, and the CGS Foundation for your continued generosity and shared spirit of giving.
