Going Cross Country

The 2019/20 CGS Cross Country Championships was one to remember! It was a chilly afternoon for running on Wednesday, but when the sun came out just before the race, it turned into ideal running conditions. It was a great way to spend a Wednesday afternoon outside. There was a big turnout of CGS parents which was great to see and the atmosphere during the races was electric. The Grade 1’s were the first to race. There were a few nerves beforehand but they quickly dissipated. There were plenty of smiles and high fives along the two loop scenic race route. The Grade 2/3’s were up next and they also gave it their all, leaving nothing out on the course. It was amazing to see all the encouragement from both classes cheering on the other class in their races. Everyone finished and gave it their all, which is always what matters most, not the final position. We had the awards ceremony afterwards in the school gym along with some snacks. A big thank you to all the teachers who helped out and to the parent volunteers for all their help with the event.

Have a healthy and happy long weekend everyone!
