Happy Halloween CGS!

We had such a fun day at school today! Our Halloween spirits were not dampened by Covid one bit. The kids all looked great and the staff had lots of laughs being masked superheroes. For those parents that are new to the school, the staff always dresses up on Fall Family Fun Night as a group – a total highlight of the year. We didn’t get to share the fun with parents at the party this time but you can check out some of the hero looks below. (We particularly love the ‘You’re Muted’ IT cape design!)

Our virtual Halloween Assembly this morning was a hit – the upstairs 2/3 class did a great job of hosting and each class performed a song, poem or skit. Both Grade 2/3 classes presented Halloween songs playing boomwhackers and xylophones. Very spooky and awesome! A huge thank you to Mani for putting together these creative compositions for the kids. This was our first virtual assembly and it went very well. We learned a lot about the best ways for the children to present their performances. Our next assembly will be held on Nov 11 for Remembrance Day. Please stay tuned for how parents will take part.

Thank you to the PA for providing generous loot bags for the children to take home. Parents weren’t able to bring in food for class parties this year so the loot bags were a very thoughtful substitute. Thank you Class Parents for putting them together. CGS children are a very lucky bunch.

Happy Halloween everybody! Stay safe and we hope you find satisfying alternative ways to celebrate tomorrow night. Rest assured the kids had a wonderful day today and got a large dose of Halloween spirit. At the time of this writing, the children are having the best-ever, class by class, Halloween House Games outside with Aidan and Mani. (I wish you could hear the laughter, hoots and cheers that are wafting up to the office from the front lawn. It is a beautiful sound.) The children are having a blast. Aidan went beyond the extra mile to make it special for the children today. Captain Pavo rocks! Watch for House Game photos on the blog next week.
