House Games Goes Virtual

Last Friday we had our first-ever “virtual” House Games. It was so exciting for the students to see everyone in their House for the first time since we’ve been online. The Houses were split into their own ‘House Calls’ on Friday afternoon and students presented their DIY House mascots, which they had designed and created during the week leading up to the games. The teachers were so impressed by everyone’s participation and enthusiasm for their Houses. Lisa and I received well in excess of 50 emails from parents, showing amazing House mascot designs! That famous CGS House Spirit was on full display all week. Every day there was a new House Games challenge. Every time a student sent in a picture or video of their completed challenges they earned valuable House points. It’s safe to say I had a busy time calculating the final House leaderboard! During Friday’s House Games I dropped in on all the meetings to say hi and reveal the leaderboard to each House. Even after 8 months of the school year done, the points table is still all to play for going into Olympic Day on Friday (the last chance to earn points).  The overall winning House will be decided on Monday!

Have a great Olympic Day everyone and please send me or Liz your pictures or videos to earn those final House points! If you missed the House Spirit Week post last Thursday, check out the great House posters and mascots the kids made here.
