Walking by the Music Room at CGS, you’ll often hear the beautiful sounds of children singing or instruments playing. Last week was no exception as the Grade 2/3 class tried their hands at the xylophone, metallophone and glockenspiel. The students practiced playing different note values on the instruments and even played a two-part arrangement of “Hot-Cross Buns”! All students at CGS have the opportunity to play instruments in music class, from egg shakers to Boomwhackers to ukuleles. Younger students learn basic concepts such as keeping the beat while older students learn to notate and read music. It’s been such a pleasure working with all of CGS’ young musicians and I look forward to their performances at the upcoming Assemblies!
