To kick off Mental Health and Wellness Day at CGS, Marie treated staff to fresh bagels and cream cheese.
All our classes participated in yoga sessions with Mai. Before starting their yoga, Mai taught the students how to make their own eye pillow. Then they used their eye pillow to enhance their yoga practice during the session.
Improv Comedy Workshop
The Grades 2 and 3&4 classes participated in an Improv Comedy Workshop presented by Ashley from Y.A.Y (You Amaze You). They played lots of improvisational games, but the focus was really on listening to one another. The students had to create a creature with each student contributing a quality or characteristic to the creature. Another game was ‘What’s on my Lawn’; a game where a cow spots different characters on her lawn and students act out those roles. The students had a blast workshopping with Ashley.
Olympics Round Up
Health and Wellness Day ended with an Olympics themed cookie and a gold medal for every CGS student. The cookies from ‘Christina’s Sweet and Savoury’ were generously provided by the CGS Parent Association. As a special ‘Thank You to CGS’ Christina’s Sweet and Savoury is offering a 10% discount to CGS families on all orders for 2022. Simply let them know that you are from CGS when you place your order.
A huge CGS THANK YOU! to the Parent Association and to Christina’s Sweet and Savoury! Send Wanda [firstname.lastname@example.org] pictures of your CGS student enjoying their Olympic cookie so that we can post it on social media.
