Embracing the New Normal - Our Safe Return to School

We were so impressed that CGS was ready to open on Day 1! They have done an amazing job preparing for in-school learning this year. There are daily health screenings, small class pods and new individual desks for social distancing. We felt very safe returning to school. The staff has also made the transition to the ‘new normal’ easy. They are outside every morning, warmly welcoming everyone with a big smile behind their masks. Our children are so happy to be back at school! Thank you for a terrific start to the 2020/21 school year CGS.

~The Liu Family

After months of uncertainty about whether a safe return to school would be possible, we are thrilled to be back. It was a summer like no other. There was little time to lose as we retrofitted the school to ensure the health and safety of our community. Maintaining a Covid safe school environment for our families will remain the top priority as we navigate the days ahead. We are so pleased to see how quickly the children have adjusted to their new routines and learning spaces. Taking temperatures at the door in the morning, washing hands frequently and social distancing have already become second nature. Now it’s time to get down to the happy business of learning!

For more information about how CGS is meeting the challenges of Covid 19 while still making school a fun place to be, please contact Kelly Scott, Director of Admission, at kscott@cgsschool.com or 416 423 5017 x 43. Stay tuned for our virtual school tour coming soon.

At CGS, we believe in a balanced approach for your child's education.

Our challenging, personalized academic curriculum is complemented by our exceptional arts, public speaking and physical education programming. We place a strong emphasis on character and cultural education and mindfulness.

Children usually come to us well before they can read and often before they can even hold a pencil. It is our privilege to nurture them through their early stages of learning - from reading their first book in JK to writing their first essay in Grade 3.

Our caring CGS staff is there to see that your child thrives academically and socially. Our small class sizes ensure no child falls through the cracks. Programming is structured yet flexible, to support students at all levels of their development.

The days are busy at CGS.

Along with our core curriculum, students study French, music, physical education, visual arts and mindfulness.

There are many ways for students to discover their special interests and talents outside the classroom at CGS. The calendar is packed with opportunities for students to build skill and confidence over time.

Here are some of the extras you'll find at CGS ~ monthly school-wide assemblies hosted by students, a fully produced musical, skating and ski days, student government elections, an annual science fair and public speaking contest and cross country and track and field championships. We also offer after school programs including Extended French (100% immersion), Robotics and Art.

We'd love to hear from you.
