Parent Involvement Makes a Difference
Earlier this week, we celebrated the 38th Anniversary of CGS. Over the years, many things have changed in education, yet we remain steadfast in our goal to provide our students with a remarkable foundation for their educational journey.
Together with you, our CGS families, we have established our school as a fixture in the community where each child thrives as an individual.
“When you are involved in your child’s education, everyone benefits – students, parents, teachers, schools and communities. Good schools can become even better places to teach and learn, with student achievement often improving.” ~ Ontario’s Ministry of Education
At CGS, our parents actively demonstrate an interest in their child’s education and the day-to-day events of our school community. Throughout the year, we have many opportunities for parent engagement and thankfully, our families make the most of those opportunities.
As we near the end of the school year, we have so many people in our community to thank.
Our Parent Association has been lead by the exceptionally dedicated and devoted President, Devon Parsons (Barrett, Grade 1) for the past 8 years. Devon has been a reliable and professional lead who effortlessly guides our team of parent volunteers.
Thank you, CGS 2023-24 Parent Association:
• Devon Parsons, President (Barrett, Grade 1)
• Shuling Sun, Treasurer (Rachel, JK)
• Ashley Weld, Secretary (Colin, Grade 2)
Classroom Representatives play a pivotal role as a reliable point-person for each classroom to promote parent involvement. They relay information to families from the school, P.A. or the CGS Educators and help plan special activities within the classroom. As ambassadors of CGS, they continue to support the mission of our school, strengthening the bond between school and home, for the benefit of all.
