Pink Shirt Day, 100 Days, and More
What a busy and exciting week we’ve had at CGS!
There were so many moving parts over the last week! I know everyone was grateful for a fun filled family day to relax us all before we hit the ground running this week. We hope all our CGS families enjoyed the long weekend spending it with family and friends doing some great activities!
Over the last week we have celebrated our achievements, demonstrated immense bravery, and stood united and proud against bullying. We’ve laughed, we’ve sang, we’ve danced and performed our hearts out. We can’t forget all the fun filled days of snow to enjoy as well!
We are so proud of all our students and our JKs and Gr 1s celebrated their 100th day of school! They both had their own individual classroom celebrations with a counting party where every activity equaled 100 in JK and for grade 1 they all dressed up as their 100-year-old selves.
We stood united as a strong “Sea of Pink” for National Pink Shirt Day this February 22. We take anti-bullying very seriously at CGS and always promote acts of kindness among all our students and in all our classrooms. We learned the origin story of Pink Shirt Day and spent the day spreading kindness wherever we could.
Our little Early Starts took home the prize this week with getting to enjoy delicious pancakes with maple syrup!! They learned all about Fat Tuesday and Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras and Lent. The best part was they got to get their hands messy in the kitchen and learn how to mix and bake the pancakes themselves!
