Principal’s Club Teams Up With Books4Families
The CGS Principal’s Club has partnered with Books4Families this year and is very excited to launch their first book drive of this school year. For those of you who enter the school through the front doors, you may have noticed our new Books4Families Dropbox. If you haven’t yet seen it, please make a point of checking it out one day. The Club is very proud of it!
Books4Families was founded during lockdown this past Spring by a former CGS student who lives in our community. They provide lightly used and new books to families in Toronto who experience challenges accessing books for their children. Once the books have been dropped off in our new dropbox, Books4Families will pick them up, sort them and ensure their delivery to the Children’s Book Bank in downtown Toronto. The CGS Principal’s Club has worked with the Book Bank in the past so they are very familiar with the awesome work they do in high need areas of our city. They are thrilled to support them through this new initiative.
The students who belong to the Principal’s Club have been encouraged to look through their books at home this weekend and perhaps choose one or two that they have outgrown and would like to donate to this very worthy cause. We would love it if other students in the school joined them by doing the same. If you are doing a Fall clean up and have more books than will fit in the dropbox, please just let us know! We will arrange to get them from you at drop off or pick up one day.
As always, we would like to thank you in advance for generously supporting our Principal’s Club students as they forge ahead on their path of philanthropy and community outreach.
