Science Goes Outside

The Grade 2/3’s had an exciting afternoon on Wednesday! We have been learning about the Scientific Method and we headed outside to test our knowledge. Using different sized test tubes, baking soda, vinegar and balloons, each student had their own materials to test their hypotheses on what would happen. The students were so excited to watch their balloons inflate right in front of their eyes! We had different levels of inflation and success based on different factors such as amount of ingredients, size of test tube and security of the balloon attachment. We had some extra fun investigating how we could make ziploc bags ‘pop’ as well. The students were very engaged and produced fantastic work describing their method, observations and results later on in the day. Way to go Grade 2/3 scientists!
