The SK’s adore their STEM sessions and this week was no different. Their challenge: To help a gingerbread man escape from a fox without getting wet. First, they had to complete a sink and float experiment to understand density and buoyancy to ensure their raft wouldn’t sink and cause the gingerbread man to dissolve. The children explored the properties of different materials to discover which supplies were waterproof. The children used sinks and bathtubs and their own ‘wind’ to help their gingerbread man escape. Looks like the results were pretty good, the gingerbread man is still smiling!
