Stanger in the Woods
The Early Start children are learning all about winter this month. We listened to a wonderful story this week called “Stranger in the Woods”. The children enjoyed learning about the different animals that came to visit the stranger in the woods, who turned out to be a snowman! At the end of the story, the class came up with great ideas for the story if it were to continue. The children talked about how to draw a snowman and what details we could add to make them look beautiful. With this activity the children are working on reading comprehension, listening skills and attention to detail when drawing a picture. The fun continued after the story with an exciting art activity. We used painting and glueing to create a beautiful winter scene just like we saw in the book.
