Terry Fox Foundation Presentation

Terry Fox Foundation Presentation

CGS was fortunate to have a wonderful guest speaker come to visit us from the Terry Fox Foundation. Our visitor Kathy Clarke presented to the JKs and SKs, then to the Grades 1-4 classes. She talked about the impact that the Terry Fox Run has had on cancer research and how much of a difference everyone’s participation makes. She also showed us an inspiring video featuring Terry Fox explaining his goals and what he was hoping to achieve. Our students were engaged and interested in the presentation, and made some great connections to things they had already learned about Terry Fox.

Another way we have been getting ready for the Terry Fox Walk is by creating a whole school “family tree”. During their art class students from JK – Grade 4 painted hearts in all different colours to glue onto the trunk. This tree is a part of our display for the Terry Fox Walk.
