Al Haadi School Free Book Library – Scarborough
Summer is a wonderful time for Zandée, our Executive Assistant, to get things ready for the upcoming school year. A big part of that is reorganizing our CGS library. This year, we have been able to make a significant donation to the Children’s Book Bank with the extra copies or lesser used books in our library. It is so exciting to see how many families in need of children’s books benefited from this wonderful initiative!
Vaccination Clinics – various locations
In June alone, a total of 6691 books were distributed to community partner locations in North York, Toronto, Mississauga, Etobicoke, East York, Scarborough – plus over 2,000 at the Book Bank’s Daniels Spectrum shop. They also distributed 2000 books at the two day ‘Word on the Street Festival’ on June 11 and June 12!
Feed Scarborough Food Bank
The Children’s Book Bank has a corporate donation of board books upcoming in late August so be sure to check your home library for extra copies or good condition books that are no longer being read. Our drop box, was a very positive Principal’s Club initiative, is always available for drop off outside of our main entrance doors at 670 Eglinton Ave. E.
