The Human Body Explained

Thank you to SK parents Julia, Kevin and Erica (who all just happen to be doctors), for coming in to share their knowledge about the human body with the children over the last few weeks. The SK’s are right in the middle of their Human Body unit in Science and parent visits make an already very exciting unit even better.

Doctor Kevin taught the children all about blood and the functions of cells in the body. (Thank you for the puppets and the ‘Where’s Waldo – The Blood Edition’ Kevin!). Doctor Julia taught the children that the heart is just like a house – it has two ‘rooms’ or chambers upstairs and two rooms downstairs. She also showed the children how to take their pulse and what makes their heart beat slow or fast. Doctor Erica was there to talk all about teeth. It was a good thing too because I.J. had just lost one that morning!
