The Starfish Thrower

Our April in-school Character Education assembly on Stewardship was particularly great this week. Marie found a short but very poingant video to help illustrate the idea of stewardship for the children. She explained beforehand that being a good steward of the earth means believing that humans are responsible for the world, and should take care of it. That taking care involves the giving of our time and talents to make the world a better place. She emphasized that the important thing to know about stewardship is that we don’t have to do big things to change the world and that all the small things we can do are just as important. The small things will add up and become a big thing! So don’t get too hung up on the idea that stewardship only involves big and extravagant actions. Start small with your daily routine. Think about what moments and circumstances in your life you can view through the lens of stewardship, no matter how small or average they may seem. Every moment counts. Every person counts. Every single minute in your life is an opportunity to make a difference.

Take a few minutes to check out the video we all watched on Wednesday so can share it with your kids this weekend.
