Bringing Norval Home

Our Grade 2/3’s were supposed to be on their Norval sleepover yesterday and today. The children LOVE this trip and look forward to it all year, sometimes for several years. It is a real right of passage for CGS students when they reach Grade 2. Not being able to go to camp this year has been very sad for the kids. Lisa and Michelle did not want this special experience to be lost so…the CGS Virtual Sleepover was born! The children took a break from their regular curriculum on Thursday and Friday and have been building forts, making fake (and real!) fires and cooking outside using the Norval tinfoil packet method. The teachers also hosted a virtual sleepover last night from 6:30-7:30pm. The Norval Sleepover spirit has not been lost! Thank you to all the parents at home who helped make these two days special for the campers. We miss you Mr. Elgie and Mr. Evans and we look forward to seeing you next year. In the meantime, we will keep the Norval fires burning!
